Project Title: Da Vinci Runs on Dunkin’
Target audience:
Millennials and Gen Z, females and males ages 16-40, who are avid coffee drinkers and lovers of Dunkin’.
Background:
Dunkin’, founded in 1950, is the largest coffee and donuts brand in the United States, with more than 13,200 restaurants in nearly 40 global markets.
Design problem:
To design an ad campaign for Dunkin’ collaborating with a well known artist.
Design process:
When originally creating this project, I chose 3 well known paintings so for this project, the first step was to identify one famous artist. I chose Leonardo da Vinci because of his collection of portraits that would work well with the product I had chosen - Dunkin’ coffee. For two of the paintings, I had to use Photoshop to remove original items the subjects were holding and replace them with coffees. The vision I had for the piece featuring The Madonna of the Yarnwinder required taking my own photograph of stacked coffees so I used my Canon 5D Mark iii with Sigma 35/1.4 to do so. I used Dunkin’s current visual brand identity to create each ad piece as well as the project expansions.
Design solution:
Three famous paintings created by Leonardo da Vinci were chosen; all three were portraits. Subjects were shown holding a Dunkin’ coffee or multiple coffees using Photoshop.
